Colleen Donovan
Born and raised in Rhode Island, Colleen graduated from the Johns Hopkins University with a degree in International Relations. She arrived in Guatemala in 2008 for what was meant to be a short stay, but that visit has grown into nearly two decades of living and working along the shores of Lake Atitlán. Colleen has developed deep ties within the local community, working as an early childhood educator and serving on the board of Escuela Caracol, a Waldorf school committed to making education accessible to all families. Her work has been grounded in connection, cultural understanding, and a long-term investment in the place she now calls home. With a lifelong passion for travel and a deep appreciation for meaningful, place-based experiences, Colleen is excited to bring both her perspective and local knowledge to Somos Travel. She is enthusiastic about helping craft thoughtful, authentic journeys that allow others to connect more deeply with Guatemala and beyond.
